Turning a Vision into Reality
When Edward Keen established what is now known as Summer Creek in 1884, he knew that this little slice of heaven was the perfect place, not only for founding one of the first wineries in W.A., but also as a home for his family.
Owned by the Poulton Family since 1987, the property comprises 98 acres with the original Winery buildings awaiting restoration, as does a Workman's Cottage on the banks of the Clackline Brook. The Manager's house is still in use, while the original Dairy is now incorporated in the Restaurant and Brewery. Unfortunately, Keane's original 20 room Homestead was destroyed in a Bush Fire in 1904. The property was registered by the National Trust in 2003 and gained Heritage status the next year.
